A Christmas Gift
by Roger Montgomery
Ó

In this glittering season
When man’s gifts are unfurled
We should pause to consider
God’s gift to the world.

Lord, sometimes we get so busy
With the things we have to do
That we don’t stop to consider
There would be no Christmas without you.

Sometimes we like the presents
And consider only what they’re worth
But we’re never be able to compare
Your gift to this poor earth.

Our giving will soon be over
The cards and letters we send
But the free gift of life in Christ
Is the one gift that will never end.

So, Lord, we pause to thank you
With each gift that we send
Lord, with your first day on earth
Was when our true Christmas began.
