The lady at the truck stop stopped to say
To her friend, I know the way
I thought to myself, I do too
His name is Jesus Christ
Should I have answered without being asked
Or would I have seemed a little crude?

Some people are searching everywhere
Asking directions here and there
Some are even looking at their maps too
If you don’t know where you are going
You may be lost without even knowing
Am I still sounding a little crude?

There is someone offering directions
One day with Him you will reckon
He is called the Way and the Truth
Some people have accepted His directions
To some it is only a reflection
To some this sounds a little too crude.

But there are so many people wondering
Spending their life just wandering
Not knowing where they are headed to
If they would stop to ask
The answer is Jesus Christ
Does that sound a little crude?

There is no use struggling and crying
You can find the answer without even trying
God gave us the answer and hung Him in full view
He’s not just someone from the past
He is eternal, He is the Christ
And He is one person who is never crude.

He was even called the Way
We crucified Him as He prayed
I thought we treated Him kind of rude
He gave His life for you and me
As we nailed Him to a tree
Isn’t it a little late for feeling crude?
