Dead Serious

The man offered such a great deal
His friend said, I’m curious
Is this deal for real?
The man said, I’m dead serious.
You can take life laid back
You can face it fast and furious
But however you think about it
One day you’re be dead serious.
Some people talk real sensible
Some seem to be almost delirious
Some seem to talk just to talk
But one day, they’ll all be dead serious.
Put it off until tomorrow
Don’t allow the future to worry us
But the future is being made today
And is it looking dead serious?
Some people are talking for others
Some are talking for us
If you need someone to talk for you
You need Someone who is dead serious.
Jesus is my advocate and lawyer
How do I know He is for us?
When He talks about love and friendship
He gets to be dead serious.
He doesn’t use big words
He is not One to act deleterious
He makes it simple so all can understand
He shows us He is dead serious.
We can tell who really loves us totally
Whose words will really touch us
He made an explanation to all who will listen
Point is, He is dead serious.
Are you playing games with God?
He sent One to die for us
When God deals with your soul
He gets to be dead serious.
He speaks words that we can hear
In our heart they seem to stir us
If you would like to meet Him alive
It’s a good time to get dead serious.
You only go through life just once
Don’t face God when He gets furious
He doesn’t like those who reject His Son
On this thing, He gets to be dead serious.
Eternity is a long time to think
Decisions not made in time will tend to worry us
Time is where eternity begins
It’s time to get dead serious.
We may run out of time in time
At that time someone else may bury us
Did we take Life as a gift while we lived
When we die, will we be dead serious?
Well, talking may not be the last thing we do
One day we may not be too dexterous
But we may really get to rest in peace
If we first get to be dead serious.
The Son of Man offered such a great deal
The world itself seems to be so curious
It’s hard for some to believe they can really live
It’s a grave thing to be so dead serious.
God offered such a great deal
I hope it makes you more than just curious
Someone died to give you life
Are you taking it dead serious?
