Even So Lord Jesus, Come

a Poem by Roger Montgomery

Jesus Christ will come one day
And take His waiting bride away
Even so Lord Jesus, Come.

So we will watch and pray
While waiting for that day
Even so Lord Jesus, Come.

Jesus is getting ready to leave His throne
To take His waiting bride home
Even so Lord Jesus, Come.

He won’t have time to wait
For you to clean up your slate
Even so Lord Jesus, Come.

You have to be ready when He comes
So when He arrives, you’ll be gone
Even so Lord Jesus, Come.

Keep your lamps filled until you glow
Be filled with the Spirit so you can go.
Even so Lord Jesus, Come.

Keep your lamps trimmed until it shows
When Jesus returns, you can go
Even so Lord Jesus, Come.

Some day people visiting us won’t find us home
We’ll have a new one before God’s throne
Even so Lord Jesus, Come.

We’re waiting to come on home
And that’s why we sing this song
Even so Lord Jesus, Come.
