Fast

The world is getting fast
And it tells us to get fast too
We’re going so fast we haven’t time
To do the things we know we should do.

People waiting in line
To blow their horn at you
As you look ahead and wonder
Just where are they going to?

If they pass you by
Then what are they going to do
There's so much traffic up ahead
How will they even get through?

We’re good at saving time
With all the things we have to do
Hurry up and save time
But where are we running to?

Will we carry our cross
The Way the Lord told us to do
If we find someone weaker
Will we help ease their burdens too?

Or will we be too busy
With the things we have to do
Will we overlook what's important
And who's important too?

With all the time saved
It's amazing, but true
How little time we have left
To do the things we need to do.

One day Jesus, we'll run out of time
And enter eternity too
Will we regret the time we spent
Or didn't spend with you?

So I will learn to slow down
And spend more time with you
I can’t keep up with the world
And carry my cross too.

Everything in this world is important
But eternity is important too
So each day each person must decide
What is important to you.
