Fireman

A fireman rushes into a house
In response to someone’s screams
Rescuing them from the fire and pain
This has been his lifelong dream.
Disregard for his own life
With lives falling apart at the seams
His life’s work is saving lives
Solo or as a team.
Fire can cause such horrible pain
Worse than most pain it would seem
So many people will never know
Because a fireman was on the scene.
What is a person’s life really worth
What is the price to redeem
What kind of sacrifice would he make
When he hears a baby’s scream?
He can’t save others if he waits
Falling hearts and falling beams
Houses going up in smoke or homes falling down
What does all this mean?
God knows what it’s all about
His Son was given to redeem
He’s gone into the fire Himself
To hell and half way in between.
The human race was lost in sin
Jesus died for those unseen
Through the fire He ran and rescued us
When He heard all our screams.
Firemen are true heroes today
I guess you know what I mean
So shake their hands and let them know
You hold them in great esteem.
But remember Jesus went into hell by Himself
He suffered the fire and pain
So let Him take you by the hand
Your salvation is His dream.
