You can take ten dollars
When you’ve got it to spare
And give it to the needy
If you would like to share
And this money will do good
Of this there’s no doubt
You know giving of yourself
Is what life’s all about.
Ask a blessing on it
From the One in Heaven above
Ask Him to use it completely
And bless it with His love
Tell Him you know for certain
Someone needs a helping hand
And as a small partner you wish
To share in His divine plan.
You can take that same money
When you need it for yourself
That makes it a real sacrifice
When you know there’s nothing left
When you’ve given all you have
You’ve got nothing else to spare
That’s when the Lord Jesus Christ
Knows that you really really care.
Give of your time each and every day
And give of your loving prayers
Give of yourself in every way
Forget about all of your selfish cares
Let giving to others you meet each day
Turn your life inside out
You’ll still have the real riches
When everything else is worn out.
