Home

I work all week at my job
On Friday Im gone
Ive been away from my family
End of week Im headed home.
I will have a nice payday
Recognition of work done
But thats not the most important thing
Now Im headed home.
Time and distance separates
Sometimes we feel alone
But one thing to look forward to
Tonight Im headed home.
Some may see my vacant seat
Say we hate to see him gone
But I will show up again
Today Im headed home.
Family and friends, I long to see
Sometimes the earth feels like a tomb
But, if theres life inside of me
You can bet Im headed home.
I have rented a place on earth
This is a temporary place, Ive always known
This is not my permanent address
You should see my real home.
Would you like to come and go with me?
The journey wont be long
Time goes pretty fast
When youre going home.
Maybe for now you have to work
When winter comes, the summers gone
But the seasons seem to agree with me
Soon Ill be going home.
If you would like to visit me
I think youll feel like you belong
I would enjoy your company
Youd be welcome in my home.
I guess I will go for now
I hope you find your welcome warm
I hope youll be met with open arms
When you finally reach home.
Are you looking forward to
The reasons for this song
Things are looking up
Because were heading home.
There can be joy in the world today
You dont have to go it alone
Have you checked your roadmap
Do you know your Way home?
If you didnt say good-bye to me
Dont worry if Im gone
Soon I will see you again
But now Im headed home.
Sometimes after the darkest night
It will finally start to dawn
After the days work is finished
Youll be going home.
We have different jobs to do
Some days short, some days long
Hurry, up, the week is ending
Soon were be going home.
