Home

I work all week at my job
On Friday I’m gone
I’ve been away from my family
End of week I’m headed home.

I will have a nice payday
Recognition of work done
But that’s not the most important thing
Now I’m headed home.

Time and distance separates
Sometimes we feel alone
But one thing to look forward to
Tonight I’m headed home.

Some may see my vacant seat
Say we hate to see him gone
But I will show up again
Today I’m headed home.

Family and friends, I long to see
Sometimes the earth feels like a tomb
But, if there’s life inside of me
You can bet I’m headed home.

I have rented a place on earth
This is a temporary place, I’ve always known
This is not my permanent address
You should see my real home.

Would you like to come and go with me?
The journey won’t be long
Time goes pretty fast
When you’re going home.

Maybe for now you have to work
When winter comes, the summer’s gone
But the seasons seem to agree with me
Soon I’ll be going home.

If you would like to visit me
I think you’ll feel like you belong
I would enjoy your company
You’d be welcome in my home.

I guess I will go for now
I hope you find your welcome warm
I hope you’ll be met with open arms
When you finally reach home.

Are you looking forward to
The reasons for this song
Things are looking up
Because we’re heading home.

There can be joy in the world today
You don’t have to go it alone
Have you checked your roadmap
Do you know your Way home?

If you didn’t say good-bye to me
Don’t worry if I’m gone
Soon I will see you again
But now I’m headed home.

Sometimes after the darkest night
It will finally start to dawn
After the day’s work is finished
You’ll be going home.

We have different jobs to do
Some days short, some days long
Hurry, up, the week is ending
Soon we’re be going home.
