You have seen so much sorrow
Like known by so very few
I wish I could stop your suffering
Jesus said I would too.
I would go the extra mile
Sit up all night with you
I would comfort you when you cry
Jesus said I would too.
If only it were possible with me
I would shelter you
I would provide you with a home
God said I would too.
I would love to be with you forever
Eternity would be forever new
I would love you until the end of time
God said I would too.
If I could show you my love
There’s nothing I wouldn’t do
For you I would be willing to die
Jesus said I would too.
Sometimes it seems so hard to reveal
If only I could find a way to get through
I would gladly bare my heart
Jesus said I would too.
One day you will comprehend my love
As day by day I shower my love on you
