I was out on the river fishing
Talking to a man before I had even begun
I didn’t have much bait that day
In fact, I only had just one.
He wished me, Good Luck
Although he had had almost none
I said, I won’t do too good myself
Not much bait, I only have one.
But as I walked away
I thought of what I had done
A fish only has one mouth, you know
I turned and said, It only takes just one.
I went across the river thinking about it
And that day I had so much fun
I caught the biggest fish of my life
Hey, it only takes just one.
God needed a Saviour
And He sent His Only begotten Son
He doesn’t need another Saviour
It only takes just one.
You’re not the Saviour of the world
That’s the job of God’s only begotten Son
He has another job just for you
Just remember, it only takes just one.
Only one person to be a Dad
Only one person to be a Mom
Only one person can fill your shoes
But it only takes just one.
Only one chance to be a daughter
Only one chance to be a son
Only one chance to be a brother or a sister
But it only takes just one.
Only one chance to be a husband or a wife
Or be a granddaughter or a grandson
Only one chance to make a difference
But it only takes just one.
Only one person to tell about Jesus
Only one person to tell of God’s Son
Only one life to live and to give
But it only takes just one.
Only one chance to make a difference
Before this life is finally done
Only one chance you are given
But it only takes just one.
Only one chance to say a word
To make a difference to someone
Someone’s future depends on what you say
Only one opportunity, but it only takes just one.
One word and a person will live
One word and a life is done
One word can make someone a success
Only one person, just one.
Only one chance to say I forgive you
To say I’m sorry or I'm wrong
To say please forgive me or I love you
Only one chance, just one.
Time is passing by so swiftly
And very soon there will be none
Someone will change someone’s world today
After all, it only takes just one.
