One Nation
Under
by Roger Montgomery
We used to pledge allegiance to the flag
But now there is a rumble
Should we include God in our land
Or should we put Him under.
The last sounds many men heard
Were sounds that sounded like thunder
To protect so many others from death
And to keep this land from going under.
Men used to die for this great land
Now I sit and wonder
Is it still worth dying for
Or should we just let it go under?
Now God has been left out
The Pledge of Allegiance has been torn asunder
Did they prophesy their own fate
Will we become one nation under?
If we remove God from our lives
This is only for the discernible
With God taken from the pledge
It will truly be one nation under.
Remember God’s love for our great land
Will our forefathers ever wonder
Why we turned from a loving God
And become one nation under?
The dead are probably praying
Will our land be torn asunder
Have we become one of them
And become one nation under?
Every nation that forgets God
It was prophesied way back yonder
Will be turned into hell
Sounds like a country going under.
Righteousness exalteth a nation
Are we digging a deeper tunnel
Sin is a reproach to any people
It will only take them under.
We went for a long time running
Now we are about to stumble
We were flying high with God on our side
But now we are a nation going under.
They are not issuing nuclear umbrellas
Doesn’t that ever make you stop and wonder
Can military might protect your family
Or keep you from going under?
Will people look at our land
Will they point and wonder
Will we replace Australia as being known
As the nation down under?
The mighty tree grows tall and strong
But here’s one thing to ponder
It is first to be struck by lightning
And it can also be put down under.
I’m not sure I want to pledge allegiance
To a land that makes this blunder
For every nation that forgets God
Will before long go under.
In spring nature will start to grow
And reach it’s prime in summer
In fall it starts to weaken
In winter things will go under.
God is the One to give us life
He warns us before we stumble
Will He bring us to our knees
Or will He take us under?
Maybe we should reconsider
And maybe become real humble
God from heaven is looking down
But He won’t be the One going under.
